ABOUT US – EXECUTIVE PROFILES

Grant Pugh - CEO, Founding Director
Grant has over 25 years experience in electronics, telecommunications and semiconductor industries both in New Zealand and in the UK. Five of these years were as Technical Director of Blackbay Limited, the largest supplier of real time mobile data software and hardware systems in the southern hemisphere, with offices in Europe, Asia and the Pacific. Grant managed over 300 electronic and software product development projects during his time there, with a focus on the convergence of wireless technologies and the commercialization of emerging technologies. This has given him a wealth of experience in design management, scalable manufacture techniques and risk managed development.

Grant puchased the RFID division of Blackbay and incorporated Tracient Technologies in March 2007.

 

Derek Law - CTO, Director
Born in the UK, Derek has over 20 years experience in electronics, process engineering and the development of chemical, biological and physicochemical sensor devices and instrumentation. He has worked for multinationals, universities and as a director of a company involved with the commercialization of novel sensor technologies.

He moved to New Zealand where he joined Blackbay Limited as the Senior Design Engineer responsible for the design, development and product introduction of their complete product line. Derek joined Tracient Technologies when it purchased the RFID division of Blackbay. 

He has an extensive knowledge of RFID technologies and systems, their applications and how they may be designed and integrated into portable applications, for both end users and OEM’s who want to leverage off existing technologies and products provided by Tracient Technologies.

 

 Neil Edmond - Sales and Marketing Manager

Neil has 17 years experience in starting and growing successful companies. He was brought into Tracient in June 2007 to provide strategic and tactical marketing direction, as well as a sales approach based on clear communication and superior customer service. Neil is excited about the challenge of helping Tracient become a world leader in mobile RFID technology.
